The Modern Day Harlot and Me

selfie on steroids

The Bible helps us understand life and the characters in it.  This is what I learned from my relationship that ended earlier this year.  It’s a lesson God wanted me to learn I guess.

Thank God it’s over.  But this is a description – and confession by me – of that situation I put myself in.

Proverbs Chapter 7 describes the way of an adulteress, contrasting with Proverbs 8 which sets forth the way of wisdom.  It features an eye-witness account of the seduction of a man by an adulteress.

Proverbs 7:11: She is stubborn and never at rest, always agitated; busily employed to gain her end, and this is to go into the path of error, “turning aside;” preferring any way to the right way.  And, therefore, it is added, her feet abide not in her house, she gads abroad; and this disposition probably first led her to this vice.

For me, it began with her saying, “I was kissing another man and all I could think of was, what would it be like to kiss you?”  It went on from there:

7:17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

7:18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with love.

This is what Solomon said about this type of woman:

Then there’s this other woman, Madame Whore—
brazen, empty-headed, frivolous.
She sits on the front porch of her house on Main Street (or in this case church, Facebook & Twitter)
And as people walk by minding their own business, she calls out,
“Are you confused about life, don’t know what’s going on?
Steal off with me, I’ll show you a good time!
No one will ever know—I’ll give you the time of your life.”
But they don’t know about all the skeletons in her closet,
that all her guests end up in hell.
Solomon continues:

Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths.  Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.

The description of seduction in Proverbs 7:11-21 includes several indicators of the integrity and character plus the tactics and approaches that this type of sinful women have used for thousands of years to lure men.

First, notice how the seductress appeals to the senses. This woman has prepared the perfect environment for her seductions, and everything about her approach is meant to be attractive to his sight (starting with selfies in today’s culture), smell, and touch, even his emotions. In fact, the only thing she does not try to use on him is real logic. But the atmosphere here is just perfect for what she is intending.

Her emphasis is on:

  • Gaining material wealth — at least enough so she can live independent of God’s providential care.
  • Gaining power and influence — so she can exert control rather than having someone control her.
  • Physical pleasure—on pleasing the self, rather than serving others.
  • Fashion, self-image, and being noticed—so that she can attract attention, rather than pay attention to others in encouragement or other forms of service.

She has heard Solomon’s words but does not listen or act on them: “Don’t you realize that making friends with God’s enemies — the evil pleasures of this world — makes you an enemy of God? I say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy the evil pleasure of the unsaved world, you cannot also be a friend of God.”

She does it anyway.

These passages detail some of a harlot’s characteristics.  A careful study would find that she is described as deviously sly and cunning in that she feigns love, knowing how to pull a man’s strings. Her “love” is strictly business — it is nothing but window dressing.  Part of her eye-appealing attraction is her purposeful seduction.

She is described as “loud,” which might be better rendered as turbulent, flighty, confused, inconstant, and unstable.  She lacks dignity (although feigns it) and gravity, integrity and character, and she is stubborn, defiant, brazen, deliberately obstinate, and headstrong.

Almost every responsible person I know describes her that way.

Further, she is aggressive, impudent, contemptuous, presumptuous, and disrespectful. Wow does that sound familiar.

She is a harlot.

HarlotHarlotry has its base in lust, deceit, and treachery, entered into, executed, or performed for what the perpetrator believes is an immediate gain.  Not every case of harlotry follows Delilah’s (the woman that seduced Samson) exact pattern, but the motivations center on sinning for personal gain, an element that never seems to change.

Delilah illustrates a greedy, smooth-talking temptress.  Biblically, she rejects God’s provision for her of a Godly husband to seek personal, “more satisfying” gain by other means.  The driving forces are unbelief and distrust combined with self-indulgence primarily expressed through greed.

The term “greed” may sound harsh, considering the circumstances some women get themselves into before choosing to prostitute themselves.

However, we have to learn that nobody has to sin — but something motivates us to do so.

Greed is “expressing excessive desire, especially for food (her greed of choice), drink, or wealth.”  We give ourselves and others an almost endless stream of justifications for sinning, but the bottom line is that we are simply unwilling to pay the price to discipline ourselves to do what is right. In our impatience, we convince ourselves that righteousness will not get us anything.

Proverbs Chapter 9 makes the conclusion:

A foolish woman is clamorous – Vain, an empty woman, those that make the most noise. And she that is full of clamor, has generally little or no sense. Proverbs 9:13

And so she continues….

True Conversion to Christ?

have it your way christians
Today I received a great message from a pastor friend I know.  We were discussing how someone that, by all appearances, is a committed Christian; but, can jump into major sin so easily.

I’m not talking about the run-of-the-mill everyday sins like little white lies, truly minor indiscretions, lapses in kindness.  I’m referring to breaking the Ten Commandments.  A reminder:

Ten Commandments

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.

Now, I can honestly say that I’m not perfect.  Far from it.  However, I can honestly say I don’t commit Top Ten sins – and it’s really not that hard to not steal, have affairs, lie about others, kill people, etc….

Just do what is right.

I’ve been in several relationships where the women praise up and down that they are Christians.  They go to church, enroll their kids in Sunday school and other Christian activities, or even teach Sunday school and talk the talk – a lot.

But these weren’t just ordinary hypocrites.

AbandonmentAll of these relationships turned into disasters when the women started doing extremely un-Christian-like behaviors.  They had affairs, virtually abandoned their children to chase men or money for personal gain (not for their kids), did drugs, used their sexuality to promote themselves or others, and/or quit going to church.

They all made excuses for their behavior rather than just admit they did it, take responsibility, apologize, and repent.  That’s what true Christians do.

Got_the_HatThe leading excuse was “I’ve been through a lot.”  It’s the prevalent victim mentality used throughout our society today to rationalize all kinds of bad behavior, as though going through something bad, even Hell, gives anyone the right to make wrong choices, hurt others including their children, or go directly against the teachings of Christ.

To me, they have no control over their thought life.  They thought sin; so, they did it.

I’ve witnessed a lot of cheerleaders for Christ.  They go to church, talk the talk, but don’t make choices or behave based on the Word of God.

They think about being a Christian; but, they are not Christian.

To me they are not FOLLOWERS of Christ.  They imagine a fairytale lifestyle that is not real on this earth, they project a feel-good prosperity faith without struggle, or they have judgmental motives to criticize Christian institutions and traditions.

Something inside their mind attracts them to big sin.

They also pick and choose which Christian principles to live by – not live by all of them.  Those are called cafeteria Christians.  Take one belief from column A, two from column B, skip C, and that’s their personal version of being a Christian – to them.

So I asked the pastor, “How can this happen?”  And why do they continue to talk one way and do another?

His answer:

“No one who has a true conversion turns on Jesus.  It was all false.  She/they wore the Jesus t-shirt but not the changed heart.  Sad.”

This is as good an answer as any I’ve heard.  It explains a lot.

Does that mean they are saved and have the faith necessary to enter into eternity seated with God?  What do you think?

“I’m a Victim So I Can Do Anything I Want Today”

victim mentality

There are some that try to explain their current actions and bad behavior on what happened in the past.  It’s called a victim mentality.

They will even go so far as to blaspheme icons of faith to justify and rationalize the disgusting things they do today.

These are evil acts and statements that lack humility, discard goodness as not real, have a complete disregard for faith and good works, and they try to make a mockery of anyone that works hard to rise above what has happened to them.

Don’t let these self-identified victims influence your thinking.  They have destructive purposes for themselves and others – to bring as many as they can down to their level.

Most have had plenty of opportunities in faith and relationships to use those blessings and power to live a life that is productive, positive, and helpful for themselves and others.  But, they must choose it. Don’t enable their victimhood if they don’t choose what’s right, honorable, and good.

There is no reason for doing something filthy – ever, especially today.

Rise up!   Choose integrity, honesty, and loyalty.  You’ll be blessed because you did.

The Six D’s Of Satan…

Deception, Doubt, Discouragement, Diversion, Defeat, and Delay

Honor Yourself & Others

Honor Yourself & Others

By the grace of God I don’t live my life by these 6 D’s.

I was recently in a relationship and she lived her life by the 6 D’s even though she ‘said’ she didn’t. It was all a front and fraud.  She has given into deception of herself and others, the very first D.

Because of my Catholic and military upbringing, I was blessed since early childhood:

  • To not deceive, be honest
  • Not doubt, believe
  • Not discourage, be uplifting
  • Don’t divert, lead and tackle head-on
  • Don’t accept defeat, fight to win
  • Don’t delay; make decisions quickly and go for it.

I did everything I could to support her and servant-lead by example.  She chose the 6 D’s instead.

I don’t need someone that lives by the 6 D’s.  I don’t deserve that person or anyone like them either.

And you don’t either. Have faith in God that he will guide you to be honest, to believe, to uplift others and yourself, to lead head-on, to win, and go for it without delay.

Hillary Clinton is FOR Women?

Interesting read. Don’t miss this article! #‎womensrights‬ ‪#‎tbt‬ ‪#‎hillaryclinton‬

The Hillary Tapes

Hillary Clinton tells of her legal defense of child rapist in newly unearthed recordings. The girl he raped was 12 years old and he was guilty.

What happened to the rapist?

“Oh, he plea bargained. [I] got him off with time served in the county jail, he’d been in the county jail for about two months,” laughed Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton laughed when talking about getting a confirmed rapist off with 2 months 'time served.'

THIS is the person that represents women and women’s rights?  These are her own words showing a deep character flaw. Listen to the tape.

Most Civilians Don’t Get It: God, Duty, Honor, Country

Arlington National Cemetery

Arlington National Cemetery

That is me.  That is my sister. That is my son. That is my father and mother.

My grandfather was a “lifer” in the military.  Both my father and mother were officers.  I gave up my son to help him get into the Marine Corps.  He fought and survived Iraq thank God.

Most civilians don’t understand life-long commitment, life and death commitment.  Hell, they think only about the here and now.

On an Arlington National Cemetery hill overlooking the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

On an Arlington National Cemetery hill overlooking the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

I was that kid waiting at the military flightline for my Dad to get home.  We watched military families keep their front blinds shut in the military housing area so they wouldn’t see the staff car drive up when their family member was deployed into a war zone.  We ran to comfort the families that received the staff car news: KIA, POW, MIA.

A commitment lasts an eternity, not just your time on Earth.  Too bad that civilians are missing the big picture.  The important stuff.  They only get what is the pin-dot of time here in this world and don’t get the feeling of mission, purpose, life, and blessings beyond this planet.

Please God help these weak ones know You, know the power of eternity with You, and decide to honor You, their families, their duty, and their country before their life is over in a meaningless pursuit of nothing.

Liberals Think and Speak Like 5 Year-Olds

And they aren’t the only ones…

I don’t mean to insult 5 year-olds.  Sorry little guys and girls.

Evan Sayet

Evan Sayet

A very Liberal Jewish comic from New Yawk saw the light right after 9/11.  He grew up thinking “Democrats are good, Republicans are evil.”  But that changed.

His name is Evan Sayet. He couldn’t understand how Liberals, the left in this country, could fault the United States and its people for what happened that day – the blame that went on from the “America is at fault for everything” crowd.

Mr. Savet is now a conservative.  Here’s why:

Have you noticed how everything seems to be upside down?  Things that used to be considered right are now wrong and wrong behavior is now defended to the death.

Mr. Savet investigated and he has come up with an analysis that explains what happened and when, how it happened, and how it is impacting this country and its future.

He calls it the “Unified Field Theory of Liberalism.”  Critical rational judgment is being eliminated in America.  Not only is it disappearing, if you attempt to use it, you will be vilified.

You should be very afraid America.

This is a malignancy of the mind and spirit. It impacts our work ethic, our communication with each other, our economy, our values, and our morality.  Some call it political correctness; but, it’s deeper than that. Deeper than language.

The subcultural hostility on our way of life is breaking the back of the population through wrongheadedness, all from within.

And it’s not only those that brand themselves as a Liberal that are touched by this cultural and logical flip-flop, where right is now wrong and wrong is now right.  Many conservatives and the religious fall into the trap too.  One “must not judge” say the sheepl.

liberal logicThe problem with not judging, critical thinking to decide what the right thing to do is, that means there is no judgment about right and wrong.  There’s no judgment about anything.

And anyone that points out an obvious wrong is considered worse than the person that did the wrong in the first place. They are automatically labeled a hater, a racist, an abuser, intolerant …oh my God a judger.  Nothing could be worse than that right?

Didn’t we used to look up to folks that had great judgment and decision-making ability?  Now they are the hated.  Their motivations are questioned even though they have or promote great ideas.

They are attacked every way possible.  And not just the idea is attacked.  The person is maligned, investigations are launched, campaigns are waged.  All to destroy the person with good judgment that risks saying what they think.

Liberals, and many conservatives, now seek to find the wrong and fault in every issue and conversation, even in the most straightforward of topics, and they work hard to defend the opposite side.  They call it deep thinking.  I call it thinking too much, so much so that you’ll talk yourself into defending stupidity.

It’s a lack-of-logic and common sense that has penetrated our workplaces, schools, media, culture, courts, government, almost all areas of life in this country.  And if it doesn’t stop, if the insanity doesn’t reverse, we will implode just like ancient Rome and Greece did at the peak of their empires.

A great word picture to demonstrate the problem with Liberal logic, as remembered by Mr. Sayet about when he was five years-old:

When I was five years-old I wanted to buyout the New York Worlds Fair because it was closing just down the street from my neighborhood. I didn’t want it to close.  I told my father that we could move the monorail that went around the park and put it up alongside the Long Island Expressway.  It would ease congestion and pollution.

I really just wanted to do it because I liked to see it and ride on it. I didn’t want it to go away.  I used adult concerns to justify my childish desire.

His father explained to him that it would be very expensive, technically it would be hard to engineer, the bureaucracy to get the right-of-way, they wouldn’t be able to re-coop the cost with ticket sales, and so on…

Mr. Sayet’s father used grownup judgment to explain why it couldn’t be done – in fact it shouldn’t be attempted.  Critical thinking.  An adult showed him, based on judgment, the folly of the idea.

As a five year-old, Mr. Sayet didn’t accept the judgment because he didn’t get what he wanted.

That’s just like the conversations today with a modern Liberal.  If they don’t get what they want, no matter how stupid the idea, they throw a tantrum.  The modern day tantrum is to label their “enemy” as a bigot, hater, etc.

Mr. Sayet has figured it out.  His voice should be heard, listened too, and acted on.  Don’t let Liberals shut you up, destroy your critical thinking and judgment.  Speak out about what is wrong and what is right about an idea and America.
