New York Times on Memorial Day Weekend: ‘Why Does the U.S. Military Celebrate White Supremacy?’

The New York Times published an editorial on Memorial Day weekend asking: “Why Does the U.S. Military Celebrate White Supremacy?”

“The NY Times couldn’t have done a more vile thing on a weekend where we honor our dead veterans.” — Mike Marroni

The article‘s byline is the entire editorial board, and it is accompanied by an image of a bullet shaped like a Ku Klux Klan robe.

The central complaint of the article is that there are U.S. military bases named after Confederate Army officers.

Robert Welsh in 1958, delivered this warning about the #NewWorldOrder

There is nothing new about this warning. This is 60 years old. Still applicable; now, more so than ever.

Children and Immigration

When a parent puts their child at risk and in harms way, then demands a foreign government save the child, the parent deserves whatever punishment they get. #Disgusting #PersonalResponsibility

The Homeland Security Act 2002, passed by the Democrat Majority Senate on Nov 19, 2002. This law contains the language that tells DHS how to deal with the kids.

Detained parents can’t care for their kids, so their kids are “unaccompanied.”

Chuck Schumer, Democrat Leader, Voted YES.

It’s not Trump’s policy. It’s the law. Trump can’t end this because it’s Congress that writes laws, not the President. Trump has begged Congress to amend this but the Democrats there keep refusing to do so. The truth is that Democrats do not want the illegal immigration problem to be fixed. They just want an issue to campaign on.

The ones separated are either class 2 felons (2nd attempt at crossing the border) or the agents suspect the children are not really theirs. The kids ARE cared for in good facilities with teachers, and health care.

The Modern Day Harlot and Me

selfie on steroids

The Bible helps us understand life and the characters in it.  This is what I learned from my relationship that ended earlier this year.  It’s a lesson God wanted me to learn I guess.

Thank God it’s over.  But this is a description – and confession by me – of that situation I put myself in.

Proverbs Chapter 7 describes the way of an adulteress, contrasting with Proverbs 8 which sets forth the way of wisdom.  It features an eye-witness account of the seduction of a man by an adulteress.

Proverbs 7:11: She is stubborn and never at rest, always agitated; busily employed to gain her end, and this is to go into the path of error, “turning aside;” preferring any way to the right way.  And, therefore, it is added, her feet abide not in her house, she gads abroad; and this disposition probably first led her to this vice.

For me, it began with her saying, “I was kissing another man and all I could think of was, what would it be like to kiss you?”  It went on from there:

7:17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

7:18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with love.

This is what Solomon said about this type of woman:

Then there’s this other woman, Madame Whore—
brazen, empty-headed, frivolous.
She sits on the front porch of her house on Main Street (or in this case church, Facebook & Twitter)
And as people walk by minding their own business, she calls out,
“Are you confused about life, don’t know what’s going on?
Steal off with me, I’ll show you a good time!
No one will ever know—I’ll give you the time of your life.”
But they don’t know about all the skeletons in her closet,
that all her guests end up in hell.
Solomon continues:

Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths.  Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.

The description of seduction in Proverbs 7:11-21 includes several indicators of the integrity and character plus the tactics and approaches that this type of sinful women have used for thousands of years to lure men.

First, notice how the seductress appeals to the senses. This woman has prepared the perfect environment for her seductions, and everything about her approach is meant to be attractive to his sight (starting with selfies in today’s culture), smell, and touch, even his emotions. In fact, the only thing she does not try to use on him is real logic. But the atmosphere here is just perfect for what she is intending.

Her emphasis is on:

  • Gaining material wealth — at least enough so she can live independent of God’s providential care.
  • Gaining power and influence — so she can exert control rather than having someone control her.
  • Physical pleasure—on pleasing the self, rather than serving others.
  • Fashion, self-image, and being noticed—so that she can attract attention, rather than pay attention to others in encouragement or other forms of service.

She has heard Solomon’s words but does not listen or act on them: “Don’t you realize that making friends with God’s enemies — the evil pleasures of this world — makes you an enemy of God? I say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy the evil pleasure of the unsaved world, you cannot also be a friend of God.”

She does it anyway.

These passages detail some of a harlot’s characteristics.  A careful study would find that she is described as deviously sly and cunning in that she feigns love, knowing how to pull a man’s strings. Her “love” is strictly business — it is nothing but window dressing.  Part of her eye-appealing attraction is her purposeful seduction.

She is described as “loud,” which might be better rendered as turbulent, flighty, confused, inconstant, and unstable.  She lacks dignity (although feigns it) and gravity, integrity and character, and she is stubborn, defiant, brazen, deliberately obstinate, and headstrong.

Almost every responsible person I know describes her that way.

Further, she is aggressive, impudent, contemptuous, presumptuous, and disrespectful. Wow does that sound familiar.

She is a harlot.

HarlotHarlotry has its base in lust, deceit, and treachery, entered into, executed, or performed for what the perpetrator believes is an immediate gain.  Not every case of harlotry follows Delilah’s (the woman that seduced Samson) exact pattern, but the motivations center on sinning for personal gain, an element that never seems to change.

Delilah illustrates a greedy, smooth-talking temptress.  Biblically, she rejects God’s provision for her of a Godly husband to seek personal, “more satisfying” gain by other means.  The driving forces are unbelief and distrust combined with self-indulgence primarily expressed through greed.

The term “greed” may sound harsh, considering the circumstances some women get themselves into before choosing to prostitute themselves.

However, we have to learn that nobody has to sin — but something motivates us to do so.

Greed is “expressing excessive desire, especially for food (her greed of choice), drink, or wealth.”  We give ourselves and others an almost endless stream of justifications for sinning, but the bottom line is that we are simply unwilling to pay the price to discipline ourselves to do what is right. In our impatience, we convince ourselves that righteousness will not get us anything.

Proverbs Chapter 9 makes the conclusion:

A foolish woman is clamorous – Vain, an empty woman, those that make the most noise. And she that is full of clamor, has generally little or no sense. Proverbs 9:13

And so she continues….
